A man has been arrested after an assault in Bell Street, Reigate. The incident took place in the early hours of Good Friday, 3 April 2015.
Surrey Police said:
“A man has been arrested after another man suffered a broken jaw during a violent assault in Reigate.
Officers were called to Bell Street at around 3.45am on Friday, 3 April after a pedestrian was punched in the face following an altercation about the manner of driving of a vehicle near Barclays Bank.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was taken to East Surrey Hospital for treatment to his injuries and has had to undergo an operation.”
The police are appealing for witnesses. Detective Constable Laura Chambers said:
“I know there were a number of people in the area at the time of this assault and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or the events surrounding it and who has not yet spoken with officers to make contact.
We are currently working through a number of enquiries including CCTV and studying witness statements we have already obtained but we still need to hear from anyone who can help us with the investigation.“
Surrey Police added:
“Another man in his 20s also suffered minor injuries during the assault.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail until Wednesday, 6 May while the investigation continues.“
