Police investigating a robbery in Bletchingley have released CCTV video, and images, of a man they want to identify.

The incident took place on Tuesday last week (23 January), at around 8:15pm, at The Village Stores on the High Street.

DC Nicola Dell, who is investigating the case, said:

“The suspect, believed to be a man, entered the store and threatened the member of staff demanding cash before leaving towards Church Lane. He is described as holding what appeared to be a blue handgun wrapped in a bin bag.

The suspect is described as 5ft 4 inches tall, slim build, wearing blue jeans, white trainers and a dark blue jacket.

We are keen to identify the man from the CCTV images as this was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who fortunately was not hurt.
