“Britain’s Best Home Cook” finalist to appear at food festival in Priory Park

Philip Friend, a finalist on the BBC’s “Britain’s Best Home Cook” series, will be among the chefs demonstrating their skills at the Eat! Food Festival in Priory Park later this month.

The festival runs Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 July, with Philip’s spot taking place on the Sunday at the Stoves Demonstration Kitchen.

Earlier this year Philip, a maths teacher from Guildford, wowed TV judges Mary Berry, Dan Doherty and Chris Bavin with dishes such as crab bisque, beef wellington and ginger sponge.

Taking part at Eat! Food Festival will help Philip to realise an ambition he’s previously expressed on his blog:

“I would love the opportunity to do more work on television or do cooking demonstrations at food festivals and the like.

It is the teacher in me: I just want to try and show others that anyone can cook if they like food and are keen to have a go.”

Eat! Food Festival runs Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 July in Priory Park, Reigate, 11am – 6pm.

Tickets (free for under 16s) and more information are at  www.eatfoodfest.co.uk
