A local family’s puppy is still missing after a Sunday lunchtime walk – and police say Mika is believed to have been stolen.
The incident took place around 1.30pm on Sunday (20 August 2017) at the Dog & Duck pub, Prince of Wales Road, Outwood.
The owner says on Facebook that Mika, a female fourteen-week old golden Cocker Spaniel, ran ahead of them at the end of a walk – not more than a hundred yards – into the pub’s car park. The dog then disappeared from view.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said today:
“Witnesses have suggested that the puppy was picked up by two men and driven away in a white van.
Mika is micro chipped but does not have a collar or a tag.
Enquiries remain ongoing to trace Mika and anyone with any information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 45170091556 or you can use the online reporting system found at https://report.police.uk and enter the reference number in the ‘Additional information’ section.
Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Facebook posts about Mika have been shared thousands of times across the UK. A Facebook group, Get Mika Home, has been set up.
