Customer focus award for plumbing firm owner

A Reigate businessman has been named Customer Focus Franchisee of the Year at national awards run by the British Franchise Association.

Eliott Ray, who runs plumbing firm Met Serve, a Dyno Plumbing franchise, won the title at the BFA’s HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards 2017.

After a career in sales and consulting, Eliott set the business up with his dad, John, in 2005.

Met Serve, based in Birkheads Road, Reigate, now has 65 employees, and covers Surrey, Sussex, parts of South West London and Middlesex.  There are plans to expand later this year.

Eliott said of his win:

“It’s a great surprise – both finalists I was up against were so strong that I really didn’t expect it.

I’m so delighted that the team’s efforts in helping customers in emergency situations to the highest standards has been recognised as we continue to serve our 6,000 customers a month.”

Judges were impressed by Eliott’s dedication to improving customer experience, and recognising the need to build on relationships, helping to deliver high-quality products and services to create a profitable business.

“Eliott’s achievement is truly inspiring and as judges, we couldn’t help but notice his dedication and passion. We are excited to see how the business grows and shapes itself in the near future.”

Andrew Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising at HSBC, added:

“All finalists in this category were exceptional and therefore selecting the winner was, indeed, a difficult decision. I was genuinely impressed by Eliott and wish him and his team further success as the business grows.”

The British Franchise Association is the voluntary self-regulatory body for the UK franchise sector.  A franchise is an arrangement where a local franchisee owns and operates the business, but has a licence to use the brand, systems and business model of the franchisor.
