Gas company SGN says it will be replacing gas mains in Holmesdale Road, Reigate, for 14 weeks from Monday 16 April (2018).
Closures will happen in sections, as the work progresses along the road in three phases. Signed diversion routes will be in place.
Earlier SGN wrote to residents saying the project would start on 9 April, but a spokesperson said this afternoon:
“We have a team out today hand delivering updated letters to residents, which confirms our project will now begin on Monday 16 April. “
Signs also give the new start date, although with a more optimistic 12 weeks for closures.
In its earlier letter, dated 29 March, SGN said:
“[Surrey County Council] have allowed us to close Holmesdale Road between the junction of Croydon Road and the junction of London Road in three phases, starting from the junction of Croydon Road to the junction of Oak Road, followed by the junction of Oak Road to the junction of Alma Road, and finishing between the junctions of Alma Road and London Road.”
The letter added:
“Thank you in advance for your co-operation while we invest in the gas supply network in your area.”
