The latest in a series of RMT conductor strikes on Southern trains takes place Friday 4 – Saturday 5 November.
As in the previous strikes it’ll be a case of GWR trains only at Reigate, with rail journeys north or south needing a change en route at Dorking or Redhill.
At Redhill, it’s a case of a “reduced service, trains expected to be very busy”, according to route maps for each of Friday, Saturday pre- and Saturday post- midday.
The Southern strike advice page also has timetables for each day incorporating both Thameslink as well as the reduced Southern services. Information is given on alternate routes and compensation.
Southern also has a live running page.
The long-running dispute is over the role of conductors on trains and a proposal that the driver should instead operate the doors. The RMT says it’s not safe, while the company says it is.
The RMT recently announced further strikes over the festive period. The current list is now:
- Friday 4 – Saturday 5 November
- Tuesday 22 – Wednesday 23 November
- Tuesday 6 – Thursday 8 December
- Thursday 22 – Saturday 24 December
- Saturday 31 – Monday 2 January 2017
