Hooley Lane, Redhill, will remain closed into this week, at the railway bridge arch, following a burst water main on Saturday.
As of late afternoon on Monday (27 August), the road was closed in both directions with a crew working on site, and with a signed diversion route set up. Pedestrians were, however, able to walk through.
SES Water said on Twitter on Sunday afternoon (26 August):
“We’ve restored normal water supplies to those customers affected but Horley Lane*, Redhill will remain closed whilst we repair the road next week. We will update you as soon as we know when the road will reopen.”
(*It’s pretty clear they mean Hooley Lane.)
On Saturday the burst main cause a sinkhole, temporarily trapping an Ocado van – Get Surrey has an article.
