Gas company SGN is continuing its work in Linkfield Lane, Redhill, although there’s been a change to the phases originally set out.
Work on the road is still expected to complete by Friday 31 August 2018 as planned.
Dan Brown, a spokesperson for SGN said this morning (Tuesday 7 August):
“Our upgrade project in Linkfield Lane is progressing well.
In consultation with Surrey County Council, we’ve revised our project phases to minimise the disruption of our work in the area.
We’ve been working in Linkfield Lane between the A25 Station Road and Batts Hill. For everyone’s safety, Linkfield Lane is temporarily closed between these junctions with signed diversions in place for motorists.
Our engineers are expecting to complete network upgrades between the A25 Station Road and Batts Hill today (Tuesday 7 August) and work to restore the road surface will begin shortly.
All being well, we hope to finish the resurfacing work and be able to reopen this section of Linkfield Lane by Friday 10 August.
From Monday 13 August, our work area will progress northwards on Linkfield Lane to between its junctions with Furzehill and North Street. To ensure everyone’s safety, we need to temporarily close Linkfield Lane between these junctions and a signed diversion route will be in place for motorists.
When we reach the North Street junction, we may also need to install temporary traffic lights to manage traffic flow and to ensure everyone’s safety around our work area.
We expect to complete our project in Linkfield Lane by Friday 31 August as planned.”
