Lisa Brunt has stepped down from her role as a Borough Councillor for Reigate Hill, due to work commitments.
An election for Mrs Brunt’s replacement will take place alongside other Borough elections on 7 May 2015.
Mrs Brunt was a Conservative councillor, and a member of the Planning Committee. She gave the following message about her resignation:
“Dear Residents of Reigate Hill
Earlier this month I tendered my resignation to the Chief Executive of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council. This decision was taken after a lot of thought and is purely due to greatly increased commitments at work meaning that I felt that I was no longer able to effectively represent my residents.
The Chief Executive, as the Council’s Electoral Returning Officer has advised that the by-election to elect my successor will take place on Thursday 7th May, the same day as the General Election.
I’d like to thank residents for their support and friendship over the years and wish you all the best for the future.”
Reigate Hill is also represented by Borough Councillor Roger Newstead, also a Conservative. His seat is not among those up for election this year.
