Witnesses sought after attack on dog and occupant in Merstham

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Merstham on Tuesday evening, 21 November, around 5pm.

Police say that three men wearing balaclavas, and armed with knives, entered a property in Brook Road.

A dog received a three-inch cut to one of its ears, while an occupant also suffered minor injuries but which did not require medical attention.

After the incident, the men were seen running away from the property.

Police add that two vehicles –  a Ford Ka and a brown Mercedes – were seen nearby.

Detective Constable Nicola Dell, who is investigating the incident, said:

“This was a violent attack which has left a dog with injuries.

We need anyone with information to come forward to help us so we can establish the circumstances around this incident.

If you live in the area, please can you review any CCTV or dash cam footage which may help us identify our three suspects.”
