Reigate & Banstead Borough Council has a new plan under way to restore the grass in Priory Park, where the ice rink stood over the festive period.
Although the area has been looking better in recent weeks, sections nearest the path don’t seem to have done so well.
As in previous years, remedial work to the ground is paid for by the organisers of Reigate on Ice, but the council carries it out and decides what needs to be done and when.
In response to continued concerns from residents about the time it’s taking to get the ground back in shape, on Monday the council said on Twitter:
“Our greenspaces team have said that unfortunately the remediation and maintenance undertaken hasn’t met our high standards on this occasion.
We have started a new remediation plan and clear improvements will be seen in the next few weeks.”
Reigate on Ice ran from 30 November 2017 to 3 January 2018.
