Proposed site of Wagamama restaurant

Planning applications have been filed for a Wagamama restaurant in Reigate.

The site is the former Edward Dean premises at the junction of Bell Street and Bancroft Road, near to the Everyman Reigate cinema.

In a covering letter JLL, as agent for Wagamama Ltd, states that the application is not speculative and that:

“[Wagamama]  is now seeking to open its first store in Reigate and, following an extensive search, the application site has been identified as ideal for their requirements”.

The plans only relate to the ground floor of the building, where the new restaurant will be able to accommodate up to 142 diners.

One of the applications is for a “change of use of ground floor from retail (Class A1) to a restaurant (Class A3), signage, shopfront alterations and installation of plant equipment”, while the other deals with menu boards and signage.
