Surrey Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an armed robbery at a post office in Banstead on the evening of Wednesday 12 December 2018.
Police say two men went to the post office in Woodmansterne Road around 9.05pm, and threatened staff with a handgun before one of the men climbed over the till and stole a quantity of cash.
One of the men is described as between 50 and 60 years, with grey hair and a distinctive ‘C’ shape scar or mark on his forehead.
The second man is described as white, but because his face was concealed no further description is available.
Temporary Detective Sergeant Tom Griffin, who is investigating the incident, said:
“This was a terrifying ordeal for the family who run the post office and store. We are appealing for help from the public to help us identify the man in the CCTV, as well as anyone else with any information which could progress our enquiries.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number PR/45180132229. Alternatively, those not wishing to give their name can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
