Power cut caused by cable fault

Thursday evening’s power cut in part of Reigate affected 1,156 customers, according to UK Power Networks.  The cause was a fault on a high-voltage underground electricity cable.

The power cut happened at 7.24pm on Thursday 5 March 2015.  Roads affected included Nutley Lane, Manor Road and Somers Road.

UK Power Networks said:

UK Power Networks engineers restored supplies to 58 customers within four minutes, 416 customers at 7.32pm, 573 customers at 8.02pm and the final 109 at 8.29pm.

Some customers may have experienced a second brief interruption while supplies were being rerouted using alternative circuits.

We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident.”
