Reigate level crossing reopens

The level crossing on the A217 in Reigate has reopened after its closure over the weekend for planned rail engineering works.

This morning (Monday 29 October) evidence of the work is apparent, with new tarmac in place.

During the work signed diversions were set up, although pedestrians were still able to use the footbridge.

There were some additional problems for a period on Saturday morning when a lorry reportedly struck the bridge over the Croydon Road, affecting that alternative route before the problem was cleared.
