Santa Sleigh Routes 2015 gets under way on Thursday 10 December, with no less than 13 routes being toured on various nights in the run-up to Christmas.
Each year the event is organised by Redhill & Reigate Round Table, who also arrange the Santa helicopter landing in Priory Park which took place over the weekend. In 2014 both events together raised more than £10,000 for local good causes, as well as providing exciting entertainment for children.
Detailed maps of this year’s routes, showing the streets that will be visited, have been published on the Santa Sleigh Routes webpage, with a Facebook page and Twitter feed providing live updates from each night.
Redhill & Reigate Round Table are again being supported by Hystar Group who provided the helicopter for the landing, and on the routes by Harwoods Landrover in Croydon who provide a vehicle to tow Santa’s sleigh (the reindeer needing to be spared for important Christmas Eve duties). Redhill and Reigate Scout groups play an important role, joining the sleigh team to help with collections and make each evening a success.
Causes benefiting this year will be selected depending on need, and with the Round Tablers’ “postcode challenge” in mind: prioritising the local area on the basis that this is where the funds are raised.
