Two YMCA East Surrey projects have been shortlisted in the YMCA Youth Matters Awards 2017, which celebrate the achievements of young people across England and Wales.
YMCA East Surrey is asking for local people to vote, so as to be in with a chance to win.
The two projects are:
- Health & Wellbeing Project of the Year: WAVES (Wellbeing, Awareness and Voice in East Surrey) – this is a youth group promoting mental health awareness. Among its achievements, since 2015 it has trained 20 Young Mental Health Champions and provided information to 26 schools and colleges locally. More information and a voting link here.
- Training & Education Project of the Year: Pathway to Employment – this initiative has been successfully working with local organisations to help vulnerable young people towards or into employment. More information and a voting link here.
The YMCA says:
“Winning these awards would be a fantastic personal achievement for young people in East Surrey and we appreciate as many votes and shares from family and friends as possible. You can vote once for each category and voting is open until Friday 25 August.”
