Ultrasun UK sponsors Loveworks Pamper Party

Reigate firm Ultrasun UK is helping local charity Loveworks continue its Pamper Party for a women’s hostel.

The Loveworks charity helps Wayside, a hostel for homeless and vulnerable women aged 16 – 25. The charity says the Pamper Party, which takes place once a month, “gives the young women a little luxury and respite away from some of the difficult issues they are dealing with in their everyday lives from mental health issues, overcoming abuse and substance misuse”.

Ultrasun UK, a sun protection firm whose UK head office is in West Street, has agreed to sponsor the event over the next year, providing the ladies with a hamper of skin care products, volunteers to pamper the ladies and party food.

Roger Goodway, part-time operating officer at Loveworks said: “Securing this partnership with Ultrasun UK has been a fantastic success and we are very proud to be working with Ultrasun and Managing Director Abi Cleeve and her staff. This kind of support means that we can continue to direct vital resources where they are most needed and improve the lives of the people who need our support in the Reigate, Redhill, Merstham and Horley areas.”

Abi Cleeve, Managing Director of Ultrasun UK, said her mother originally established Graphters in Reigate over 30 years ago: “As she expanded the business, she saw the value of flexible working and taking on people with key skills who may not be able to work a conventional 9-5. Fast forward to now and the business has expanded to include two new companies Cura UK, an Italian skin care distributor and Ultrasun UK but it has maintained this ethos within the DNA of the business”. Ms Cleeve added that with new warehousing in Redhill, the business was working with the job centre to employ teenagers, not previously in employment or education, and reformed offenders.

Loveworks was founded in 2008, with current projects including local food banks, an older people’s outreach programme and a new mentoring programme for young people not in education or training.   The charity says that, with the exception of Mr Goodway, it is run entirely by volunteers and that they are always looking for new members of the community to help.
