A section of Reigate Hill will close on weekday nights for two weeks, from Monday 15 July to Friday 26 July (2019).
The closures, from Rushworth Road up to Raglan Road, are set to start each evening as early as 8pm, and are scheduled to run until 6am.
A leaflet from Surrey County Council says:
“We are carrying out carriageway resurfacing (Rushworth Road to Birkheads Road) and carriageway patching and iron works (Birkheads Road to Raglan Road) on London Road and Reigate Hill, Reigate.
London Road/Reigate Hill will be closed between Rushworth Road and Raglan Road whilst we carry out our works.
We will make sure you can get to and from your house or business when it is safe to do so. Please talk to a member of our staff on site if you need help – talking to our staff can solve most issues.”
The leaflet adds:
“There will be some noise but we will try to carry out the bulk of the noisiest works before midnight.”
Residents are also advised to keep a look out for any updates shown on signs, or on roadworks.org.
A diversion route isn’t mentioned, but roadworks.org shows (from the north) Raglan Road, then Gatton Road, the A23 into Redhill and finally the A25 to Reigate, with the reverse for those approaching from the south.
Driving that diversion route is stated to take 15 – 17 minutes, though presumably some drivers will choose other routes.
The roadworks are being carried out by Marshall Surfacing on behalf of Surrey County Council.
