New owners of Four Hops plan to add pizza

Craft beer shop Four Hops in West Street, Reigate, is under new ownership from today.

The new owners, pop-up pizza company Monte Forte, will keep the shop running as Four Hops until renovation work in the autumn.

The plan is that the shop will then be rebranded Monte Forte, and offer both craft beer and Neapolitan pizza.

Monte Forte, run by brothers Paolo and Luca Malavasi, has served up pizza at Four Hops before, on a pop-up basis.

Paolo told reigate.uk last week that in taking the shop on they hope to create a distinctive offering that brings something new to Reigate.

Existing bookings and vouchers are not affected and will continue to be honoured.

Monte Forte is also continuing to provide its pop-up service from its signature green van.

Four Hops opened in West Street in May 2017, after Martin Barfoot won planning and licensing permission to use the former guitar shop for the sale of alcohol.

Since then the shop has joined up with a number of other local brewing and food enterprises to put on events.
