A new website has been launched with information for unpaid carers in Surrey who are seeking guidance on end of life care and beyond.

Caring to the End contains practical, legal and financial information for carers who are caring or who have just lost a loved one, as well as advice on coping with grief and where to go for support after caring. There’s also specific information for young carers and parent carers.

The site has been produced by professionals in the health and social care sectors, hospices, and voluntary sector providers, with input from carers and former carers.

Cllr Alison Griffiths, carers’ champion on Surrey County Council’s cabinet, said: “I’m pleased to be launching with our partners this new resource for Surrey’s carers. The website will bring together key information all in one place to support our carers at a difficult time in their lives.

“Our carers do a fantastic job and this is another way we can support them in their caring role.”

Debbie Hustings, partnership manager for carers at Surrey Heartlands Health & Care Partnership, said: “We’ve had really good feedback from carers for the new site, which is very encouraging.”
