Overnight Reigate Hill work will now run to Wednesday 31 July

Resurfacing work that has closed Reigate Hill on weekday nights, near the level crossing, will now continue until this Wednesday 31 July.

Surrey County Council’s local committee for Reigate & Banstead tweeted on Monday:

“These works have been extended until Wednesday 31 July due to delays caused by the weather last week. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The project, which began on Monday 5 July, had been expected to finish on Friday 26 July.

Current information on the work can be found at roadworks.org and the original leaflet is here.

Signs have been warning daytime motorists to drive at just 10mph owing to raised ironworks.

Other signs say that businesses are “open as usual”.
