Swimmers will once again be able to use the pools at council-owned leisure centres in Reigate & Banstead from Saturday 12 September, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council announced this week.
A Facebook post from the council said: “The swimming pools in our three leisure centres will be reopening on Saturday 12 September.
“Social distancing measures are in place for the safety of both customers and staff.
“There will be separate sessions available for families, fitness and swimming lessons, all of which must be booked in advance via the GLL website or app.
“Each centre may be operating slightly differently, so please visit the website for more information.”
The GLL website has pages for each of Reigate & Banstead’s facilities: Donyngs, Horley and Tadworth.
The leisure centres closed in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic, and began a phased reopening from Saturday 25 July, in line with Government rules.
Although indoor pools were also allowed to open at that time, many across England did not.
In July the council said that GLL was working to re-open pools in Reigate & Banstead, but would first monitor usage and flow through the centres.
The Government has provided guidance for leisure centre operators on how to assess risks and provide services safely.
