The fountain in the sunken garden at Reigate’s Priory Park should soon be working again, having been out of action since last autumn.
Lee Wilcox, senior manager with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s greenspaces and fleet team, said this week:
“The feature was turned off last October due to vandalism.
The spout of the fountain was broken, along with a tear in the liner which caused a major water leak.
Due to the type and age of this feature, it has taken longer than anticipated to source parts and get the works completed.
These repair works are now imminent and hopefully this issue can be resolved shortly, subject to no further problems being identified.”
In a separate project, the council is also renovating the Priory Park playground. That’s scheduled to reopen in time for the school summer holidays.
