Redhill concert will celebrate life and works of Robert Burns

The Harlequin Theatre in Redhill will host the acclaimed Band of Burns in a celebration of the life and works of Robert Burns, on Wednesday 23 January 2019.

Organisers say:

“Band of Burns is a stunning collaboration between twelve artists from the top echelons of the folk scene, coming together to perform new versions of classic Burns songs, original compositions and instrumental sets, all celebrating the life, works and philosophies of Robert Burns.

Featuring the mesmerising vocals of Rioghnach Connolly (Afro Celt Sound System) and award-winning Scottish folk rabble-rousers The Langan Band as well as performers from Scotland, Wales, England and Turkey.”

The event is on Wednesday 23 January 2019 at 7.30pm.  Tickets (£20 – £25) and more information are on a Harlequin webpage, and the band also has a website.

The show is being hosted by Front Room Songs, a Redhill-based promoter best known for stages at Wilderness and other festivals, and for London Bridge City Summer By The River, London’s largest outdoor free festival.
