Weekend level crossing work continues

Planned engineering work on the level crossing at Reigate is under way, and is due to last until 4am on Monday morning (29 October 2018).

The crossing is closed, with signed diversions in place.  Pedestrians still can cross using the footbridge or the station underpass.

Alternative roads around the site were busier than normal on Saturday.

Things did become more difficult mid-morning, with residents reporting that a lorry had struck the rail bridge over the Croydon Road, also affecting that route.  However, the problem was resolved by early afternoon.

Both GWR and Southern trains are not running in either direction at Reigate, with replacement bus services in operation – full information is on a National Rail webpage or the journey planner.

For road users, the works are listed on roadworks.org.
