Home furnishings supplier Barnes & Fadden is looking forward to opening its latest showroom at 14-18 Church Street, Reigate, where Laura Ashley used to be.
Barnes & Fadden, a family-owned business established in 2013, has three other sites, in Sutton, Epsom, and Redhill, selling a wide range of homeware including sofas, dining and lounge furniture, beds, mattresses, lighting and home accessories.
The opening date in Reigate is expected to be at some point in September: co-owner and director Caroline Barnes told reigate.uk that the precise timing is dependent on how the shop fit-out goes.
She said that expanding into Reigate marked a “natural progression” for the business, and that this would be their first high street opening as their current sites are all in shopping centres.
Caroline added that the firm felt that their showrooms, such as the one coming to Reigate, had an advantage over the larger chains as they were better able to adapt to local customer preferences.
Building relationships with customers is a key part of the strategy, she also said.
As part of the Reigate plans, Barnes & Fadden have filed a signage application for the premises.
The windows currently display scenes from Reigate town centre’s past, as part of an initiative undertaken last year by Reigate Business Guild.
