Work has been taking place on the new Starbucks at 74-76 High Street, Reigate, where Carluccio’s used to be, but no opening date has yet been announced.
A Starbucks spokesperson said this week: “We look forward to opening our doors to customers in Reigate in the near future and will be in touch once we have more specific plans to share.”
A sign saying “opening soon” has been put up.
The franchise will be run by Cobra Coffee, a company that is now part of the Southern Co-op group and which runs a number of Starbucks in the South East including a recent opening in Horsham.
Reigate.uk approached Southern Co-Op about the Reigate plans but they forwarded the enquiry on to Starbucks.
A signage application has now been approved by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
There was a Starbucks in Reigate up until around six years ago, on the other side of the High Street at no. 51A (where Paperchase currently sits). It’s not known whether that was a company-operated or franchise outlet.
