Witness appeal after man assaulted with scaffolding pole in Redhill

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was reportedly assaulted with a scaffolding pole inĀ  in St John’s Road, Redhill, on Friday evening (12 June).

Officers were called to the road shortly before 9.30pm following reports of the assault.

Police said on Wednesday morning (17 June): “The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable but serious condition.

“Two suspects were quickly identified and arrested. A 30 year old man from Redhill and a 33 year old man from Reigate have been released under investigation with bail conditions.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or have any dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number PR/ 45200060606.

“Alternatively, if you prefer to remain anonymous, please call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
